I grew-up in California, went to college at University of Oregon and graduated with a BA in Fine and Applied Art with an emphasis in Photography. I spent 2 years in Seattle pursuing a career in photography by working in a professional photo lab, a one hour photo lab, and a photography supply store. I also assisted professional photographers as a side job. I decided I wanted to be a graphic designer and moved to New York City where I lived for 16 years.

In New York, I started out at an advertising agency where I learned the in's and out's of graphic design. I moved on to freelancing after that, and eventually most of my clients were in publishing. Freelancing allowed me to learn a lot about different industries, from magazines to advertising to fashion. I was also able to travel when I lived in NYC (Europe, India, Caribbean, Central America).

I have also found time to volunteer as much as I can. I enjoy working with kids and art so I focus a lot on those opportunities. I helped run a non-profit called Creative Arts Workshops for Kids in East Harlem for 8 years. I was the chairperson for a huge arts fair fundraiser and was a PTA vice president for 2 years. I was also in the Big Sister program.

My husband, Robert Schroeder, is also an art director in Portland. I have a 16 year old son, Luca, and 2 dogs and 1 cats.
